The Girl’s Room – by Armony Dailly

Armony is a French self-taught photographer, and this is the beautiful exclusive shoot she did for Shrill Cats – as told through her own words and photos!

I think that the intimicy of women’s group are mysterious and powerfull, that a strange connection is created. For me, the real friendship between girls is what makes you understand that you have many soulmates in this world. I never try to transform my girlfriends, or to judge them through my lens. My photos are never only for me, photo is a good way to communicate, they are also for them. I love the sincerity, the honesty they give to me.

My work focuses mainly on girls. Women are all the time under pressure, we are fantasized, criticized, we have to be pretty, feminine, thin, but women are more than all of that, they can be themselves, they don’t have to conform to society standards to be “a real woman, a real girl”. They can just be free. I would like to show their truth, their feelings, their experiences. Truth is beauty and beauty is imperfections to me.
